Interview with Jenna, Cris, Mel, Bonnie and Ashley
JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior? Jenna: No. King count automatically takes 1/3 off your sentence as a
standard procedure. I think you only get good time in prison! Cris: na Mel: Yes. I was sentenced to 100 days. I served 67
days and was released. I think by default you
get 1/3 off your sentence. If you get a new
charge (i.e, contraband, assault, breaking
N.C.O) your "good time" goes away. Bonnie: No, infact I was punished, along with numerous
other inmates for "failing inspection", which if
you have to ask what that means, I woulndn't be
able to tell you, why? Well, because when I had
asked the lady doing the inspections why I had
failed, she in return gave me no response! When
I tried calling her on the intercom, she ignored
me four different times. Ashley: I was only there 25 hours
JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior? Jenna: I'm not sure, I have never been in jail or prison long enough to
receive this offer. Cris: na Mel: As far as I know, 1/3. Ashley: na
JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior? Jenna: Well I would think staying out of trouble, no fighting, killing or
offensive behavior. The best thing to do is get into clubs, meetings,
duties, working in the kitchen anything to keep you busy. Mel: fighting, smoking anything, drugs, flipping the
staff attitude. Bonnie: Depends on the person, and the mood of the
officer in control.. Ashley: na
